Joseph Echavarria is a San Antonio native who built his career inside Bexar County courtrooms. He served two years as an Assistant Criminal District Attorney before moving to the plaintiff's side, where he has concentrated on personal injury and motor vehicle claims ever since. He remains Of Counsel to Carabin Shaw.
He graduated Summa Cum Laude from UTSA with degrees in Political Science and Criminal Justice, and earned his J.D. Cum Laude from SMU Dedman School of Law in 2007. In 2019 he became Managing Partner of the Echavarria Law Firm, and he later founded JRE Injury Law to represent injured Texans directly.

JRE Injury Law was founded by attorney Joseph R. Echavarria, a San Antonio native who spent two years as a Bexar County prosecutor before moving to the plaintiff's side. Our mission is straightforward: represent injured Texans the way we would want someone in our own family represented.
We are a boutique firm by choice. The attorney you hire is the attorney who works your file — not a case manager, not a rotating queue. It also means we take fewer cases and prepare each one as though a jury will see it, because that is what moves a carrier off a first offer.
